LangJournal's AI assistant, Zena, may save information from supported journal entries and conversations as Memory for use in later comments and conversations.
Memory is generated by AI. It may be inaccurate or include something you do not want to keep, so the app lets you review and delete it yourself.
Open Memory
- Open Settings in the app.
- Select Memory.
- Select "Manage Memory" to review the saved items.
The most recently updated items appear first. Delete an item if it is incorrect or if you do not want it used in future conversations.
Pause Memory
Turn off "Use Memory" to stop creating new memories and using saved memories in comments and conversations.
Turning it off does not automatically delete saved items. Open "Manage Memory" if you also want to remove them.
Delete Memory
The Manage Memory screen provides two options:
- Use the delete icon to remove one item.
- Select "Delete All Memories" to clear the list.
Deleting a memory does not delete the original journal entry or conversation. To remove the source as well, delete the relevant entry or chat from the Study Log.
Create Memory from earlier entries
If you wrote journal entries before Memory became available, "Create Memory from Past Journal Entries" may appear on the Manage Memory screen.
This option creates memory from the range of corrected entries shown in the confirmation message. Review the list afterward and delete anything you do not want to keep. Turning off "Use Memory" while creation is in progress stops further processing.
When Memory may be created
Memory is currently created mainly from:
- Corrected journal entries
- Character chats used as personal conversations
Conversation modes that involve a training role or fictional setup are excluded. Not every entry or conversation creates a memory.
Retention and privacy
Memory has no automatic expiration and remains saved until you delete it. We recommend reviewing AI-generated items periodically.
